Welcome to Little Paxton Parish Council
About Little Paxton
Wooded valleys and two rivers made the area around Little Paxton an ideal combination for early settlements, probably as long ago as 2000 BC. Intended and accidental excavations have unearthed evidence of regular inhabitation in succeeding centuries. At the time of William the Conqueror’s Domesday Book census of 1086, Little Paxton was known as “Pachestone”, which probably means “Sheep’s Town”.
